Beautiful Business

So yeah, I've been quite busy the past weeks because I recently joined a network marketing business. *gasp* Yes, I know. Network marketers can be pesky flies hounding you just to make a sale of bad, overpriced products. Now, why did I join?

Because, my dear children, some of them DO produce RESULTS. And I'm talking about both the product and the business. When an acquaintance asked me if I wanted to try this free pampering session with anti-aging benefits, I immediately said yes. Not that I need it... yet. (Prevention is key, you know)

Anyway, they visited me at my home and introduced the product to me. It was Nu Skin. I had no knowledge of the brand and company at that time, which was good because I had no prejudices and horror stories to make me reluctant to go through with the session. Ignorance IS bliss in this case. When they did the session on me, which was only 10-15 minutes long.... I can say that it was the best 10-15 minutes of my life.

For the past years, I've noticed faint lines developing under my eyes, the beginnings of a laugh lines and those railroad tracks you see on the forehead. But with this nifty little gadget from Nu Skin, they were noticeably diminished! I kid you not and I swear on my brand new Prada heels that the effects are instantaneous! Oh, Nu Skin, where have you been all my life?

The fountain, err, gadget of youth. No sharing! This is mine. Go get your own :p

Needless to say, I signed up as a distributor right after so that I could obtain a discounted rate of the products. My reasons for getting into it was as simple as vanity and not greed. The greed follows later. I just started using the product and voila! People started noticing the results. I recommended that they try it and suddenly the orders (and money) started pouring in. I was completely surprised. I never thought that my vanity would and could be somehow monetized. Lucky me.

So, ladies, if you want to look like you're in your 30s when you're in your 50s. Try this out. There's nothing to lose anyway.

At long last, we are now part of the Marvel Universe

So, I got this in the mail the other day:

Dear XOXO,

Reed Exhibitions, the organizers of the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC), announced today that Marvel Comics will be exhibiting at STGCC 2010.  This is the first convention that Marvel has ever exhibited at in Asia. Comic writer and illustrators from Marvel Comics, as well as Marvel’s Senior Vice President, Creator & Content Development and international talent scout, C.B. Cebulski will be attending STGCC in December. Fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their heroes at the Walk of Fame and panel sessions at STGCC.

I mean seriously? I'm getting all jittery with excitement! If you want to know more about this event, please click here

I practically got weaned on the X-men growing up. And almost all superhero females put swimsuit models to shame. Just look at those curves. And that red hair.... I do have a thing for red heads.

The Road to Financial Freedom

Ok, this will be a boring post and I'm warning you already, dear reader. Since I have absolutely nothing fabulous to say, I will write about something that WILL make us, yes, that is, both YOU and ME, fabulous. And that is? You got it, MONEY.

So, I've been reading some books on how to be financially savvy and achieve financial freedom. I must say that there is no get-rich-quick scheme. It takes a lot of know-how and luck to make your way into the world with your own steam. Some of the books that I have read are:

I invested in my first property because of this book.

Lots of sound advice and common cents, err, sense.
A simple and easy approach to personal financial management.
I mean to educate myself more on the more sophisticated ways on how to earn passive income, make good investments and take advantage of opportunities. Oh, I also have to learn how to curb my spending appetite since most of the income I'm earning is going to clothes, jewelry and bags.

I mean, a girl has to have her cake and eat it too, right?

Born again in Burlesque

I know that this is quite a jump from yesterday's nerdy goodness, but I can't help myself. I am a woman of both worlds. Anyone and anything that makes a solid statement with complete honesty to its nature and a unique look makes me love it. Did I make any sense with that statement? Well, it's the best way I can describe how I'm feeling, so sorry for not being a literary genius.

Anyway, the topic for today is Burlesque and I must say that I'm quite a fan of Dita Von Teese.

Dita with short hair makes one foxy lady.

Wonderbra Dita - does she really need it?!

The corsetted domatrix.

Can I be her for just one day?

Old Hollywood glamour done right.
I know that it's ironic for me to say that she is one classy lady for a burlesque performer. Honestly, when I see her, I just notice how gorgeous her outfits are, which lead to her lack of the outfit as she goes on with her performance. But hey, with a body like that, who needs clothes?

Burlesque is back, darlings and it's hitting our cinemas soon with this movie which stars... OMG, Cher and Cristina Aguilera.

I don't know if I should cry or die. When Cristina did that music video of Lady Marmalade for Moulin Rouge, I had a major girl crush on her. She's just so wickedly talented, it's unfair for us mere mortals. Also I think the burlesque look really suits her.

Enjoy the show, kiddies!

My Crush.

I'm totally crushing on Jim Parsons aka Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper in The Big Bang Theory.

What's not to like? He is such a cutie. I found out that he is also such a darling in real life when I watched him in an interview with Rachael Ray.

Gasp. Can I have him for Christmas?

This one for Valentines day.

And this one for the whole year.
I also lurve the styling of Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Here are some shots of my fave tees:

It's Time for Soiree Beaujolais

Yes, children, it's Soiree Beaujolais 2010. A night of free flowing wine and fine fine food all flown from France. It will be a spectacular,  sinful and sumptuous soiree at the Manila Hotel hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce. My Nov. 18 is booked.

My singular entry for the day.

Get your tickets now and let's wine and dine 'til we're not-so-fine. Hey, overindulgence is allowed once in awhile, right? Just don't drink and drive.

The excited epicure,
Ladida Lola
